Test Generator and Online Delivery System (TGOD)
TGOD allows users to create and administer tests over the Internet.
The software used for the TGOD system uses Java technology, which is both a programming language and a platform. This makes it possible to run the TGOD system on any computing platform operating Windows, Mac OS, or Linux as long as that system has Java installed.
The TGOD system installs automatically with one click from a Web browser. (Once you have made the initial installation, a Web browser is no longer required to run TGOD.)
All test items and all test data reside on the Lidget Green server! No information pertaining to items or test data will ever reside on the test taker’s machine. The Lidget Green server is an industrial-strength Sun server housed in a secure data facility in Los Angeles.

The English Proficiency Test (EPT) is a comprehensive online system for testing ability in English as a second language. The system consists of a number of different modules, targeting both adults and children:
College Academic English: This test is designed to measure the English skills necessary to function in a US college environment. The content is college-level academic English. The test currently provides scores in listening, reading, and writing components, and a speaking component scheduled for summer 2009. The main uses are placement into study programs that prepare students for college entry. Intensive English Programs also use this assessment for proficiency to track the progress of students as their English skills develop.

Basic Work Skills English: This test is designed to measure the English skills necessary to function in a US work environment. The emphasis is on the ability to function in the US environment with particular emphasis on work-related skills. The test is currently under development, and the listening, reading, and writing modules are summer 2008. The main uses are pre-employment screening for the US job market, when communication with fellow workers, or with customers, is important to successful job functioning.
This test is very flexible and tests can easily be customized to meet the needs of particular industries, or particular clients.
This is a useful online study resource for second-language learners of English who wish to improve their listening skills. One problem many EFL students have in their English studies is finding access to authentic speech samples. This site has a large collection of authentic listening materials. They cover the full difficulty range, from very easy, through intermediate level, to quite challenging.
