Gary Buck, PhD
Dr. Gary Buck is the founder and President of Lidget Green, and is an international testing expert, with a vast amount of experience. His particular specialty is testing English as a second language, and in this field his work is internationally known. He is the author of the standard textbook on testing second-language listening comprehension and has been published in numerous academic journals.
Gary worked in a number of the leading testing organizations in the United States: he was the Director of Testing in the ELI (English Language Institute) at the University of Michigan, where he developed a new testing system to supplement the established “Michigan tests”; he was the Dean of Testing at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA, where he led the design and development of many of the U.S. Department of Defense’s high-stakes language tests; he worked in the Research Division at ETS (Educational Testing Service) on SAT, Advanced Placement, TOEFL, and TOEIC programs; and he was the Director of Testing for Ballard & Tighe, designing tests to meet the No Child Left Behind legislation.
Gary is responsible for the overall management of the company and takes the lead in test design, test development, and all technical assessment issues.
Pacia is the Vice President for Product Development. She holds two degrees, one in Early Childhood Education and the other in Engineering Technology. She has a strong background in media development and oversees the development of all Lidget Green audio and visual media and all online and digital communications. She leads the development of EnglishListening.com, Lidget Green’s online listening resource, and SpectrumAcademic.com, Lidget Green’s online English testing system. She oversees the orientation, training, and user support to new users of these web services; develops our newsletters and training videos; and takes the lead in digital quality control and usability reviews.
Lynn Gray is the Business Manager for Lidget Green, Inc. She has over 30 years business experience working in a variety of accounting environments including the academic arena, retail and service industries and mortgage lending. She has managed all bookkeeping functions, worked with company accountants, and served as both human relations and payroll managers. As a manager of office staff, she has also had the responsibility of writing policy, office procedures, and overseeing computer operations.
As Lidget Green’s Business Manager, Lynn maintains and manages all business records, runs the accounting department, ensures compliance with federal and state small business regulations, and is responsible for all company benefits.
Linda oversees all managerial and execution elements related to our government contracts. This includes managing recruitment and training of language experts in over 60 languages, overseeing the independent review process of test items, adherence to contractual and government regulations, and future project development.
Linda holds a BA degree in Business Administration/Marketing and is a successful General Manager with over 20 years experience in project and product management, marketing, sales, policy and procedure improvements, and training and education. She spent most of her career at Sony Electronics where she honed her management, communications, and leadership skills and had a track record of award-winning accomplishments. As a Director of Product Management, she managed all aspects of Sony’s Handycam® camcorder business in the U.S. with a focus on brand management, sales/profitability, product development, and customer experience.
Director of Test Development, Senior Math Content Manager
Sandy oversees the development of testing materials for assessment programs and has over 20 years of experience in education and assessment. After a successful teaching career, she worked for a number of testing companies, creating both formative and summative assessments. Her experience spans the entire testing process, from creating and implementing standards to scoring items and reporting data. At the Minnesota Department of Education, she worked in the Research and Assessment Division as a test development specialist. She holds a BA degree in Mathematics and a current teaching license.
Sandy leads a team of talented writers and editors with experience developing a variety of item types in different subject areas. She creates the training materials and procedural guidelines that ensure quality control throughout the item development process.
Mary Kate Terry
Senior ELA & ELL Content Manager
Mary Kate manages the English Language Arts (ELA) development of testing materials for assessment programs and provides support for Lidget Green’s online training for English Language Learners. She has over 15 years of experience in education, having worked in the classroom, with an educational manipulatives organization, and in high-stakes assessment. Mary Kate has worked with many state departments of education and has experience in all facets of the testing process, including item alignment, passage and item development and review, forms construction, and development of scoring guidelines. She holds a BA in journalism and education and is a licensed teacher in multiple states.
Mary Kate works with a team of talented writers and editors who have experience developing a variety of item types for ELA. She is responsible for creating training materials and procedural guidelines to ensure quality control during the entire item development process.
Donnel manages Lidget Green’s projects for assessment programs. She works with a team of item writers, reviewers, and copyeditors to ensure on-time delivery of high quality assessments to Lidget Green’s clients. She also serves as our on-site expert for client’s on-line item processing systems.
Donnel has extensive experience in office management and customer relations. Prior to joining Lidget Green, Donnel was the Customer Service Manager for an internet startup focused on mobile and online shopping, where she managed all customer communications and order transactions. She is also a former Customer Service Director at a personal care company specializing in micro-encapsulation technology, where she managed 14 international distributors and provided support to prospective customers, clients, vendors, and suppliers.
